Accessible Social Media Online
Join for a webinar hosted by Melanie Thornton, Coordinator of Access and Equity Outreach at Partners for Inclusive Communities, a program of the University of Arkansas. Melanie will provide tips and tools for creating an accessible social media presence.
What we'll cover:
- What is digital accessibility and how does it relates to social media?
- What are general best practices regarding accessibility of social media?
- How do create accessible posts on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook?
- What is included in good alt text?
- What about social media management tools and accessibility?
She’ll leave time for questions. You are welcome to send specific questions in advance as well to her at mthornt@uark.edu.
Presenter: Melanie Thornton, MA, CPAAC, is the Coordinator of Access and Equity Outreach at Partners for Inclusive Communities, a program of the University of Arkansas. She provides professional development and technical assistance on topics related to disability, diversity, digital access, leadership, and design. She is very interested in working with organizations to create more accessible environments and to reframe perspectives of disability as an aspect of diversity.
